Information Security

Initiatives to Enhance Information Security

The use of information and communications technology (ICT) is essential to promoting work style reform, and improvements in operational efficiency and convenience. However, as the information society accelerates, information security risks such as leakage of confidential and/or personal information and cyber attacks are increasing day by day. The METAWATER Group has been putting in place various measures to counter information security risks.

Improving information security measures at construction and operation sites

The METAWATER Group is working to enhance information security not only in offices, but also at construction sites, water treatment plants, and sewage treatment plant operation and maintenance sites. In addition, IT internal audits are conducted to identify issues and spur countermeasures.
In fiscal 2020, from the perspective of preventing the spread of COVID-19, METAWATER cancelled its annual IT internal audits at sites, and instead gathered information from each site on which employees requested consultation, identified and corrected items that required improvement, and worked to make continuous improvements. METAWATER has also created educational videos that can be viewed remotely to deepen understanding of security in remote areas.

Information security is also essential at construction sites.

Information security education is provided to all employees.

Information security education for all employees is provided through group training and e-learning. In particular, all Group companies hold individual training sessions for new employees. METAWATER uses easy-to-understand examples to raise awareness of the need to enhance information security.
