METAWATER Signs Stock Purchase Agreement
for Schwing Bioset, Inc. in the US
METAWATER Co., Ltd. (President: Kenji Yamaguchi; Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; hereinafter, "METAWATER") hereby announces that it has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire all shares of Schwing Bioset, Inc. ("SBI"), a U.S.-based engineering company, through METAWATER USA, INC.
１．Purpose of the Acquisition
In its Mid-Term Business Plan 2027, as a growth strategy for our international business, METAWATER has designated Europe and the United States as strategic areas and are committed to creating synergies by strengthening cooperation with local companies based on our strong commercial products and technologies.
SBI, headquartered in Minnesota, USA, is a leading engineering firm specializing in sludge treatment engineering and services across North and South America. Its flagship product, the piston pump, holds an overwhelming market presence in North America, particularly for its ability to handle sludge with low moisture content. The pumps are highly regarded and used not only for sewage sludge but also in mining operations.
The North American market for sludge treatment is expected to continue its steady growth due to increasing sludge volumes from population growth. In addition, the market is projected to expand further as environmental regulations increasingly promote the beneficial use of sewage sludge.
Through its acquisition of SBI, METAWATER Group will strengthen collaboration within our existing North American subsidiaries, Aqua-Aerobic Systems, Inc. and Wigen Companies, Inc. This will create significant synergies across our North American operations and enable METAWATER Group to deliver innovative solutions to our customers.
