CeraMac® System to Be Adopted for Switzerland's First Ceramic Membrane Water Treatment Plant
The Fourth Water Treatment Plant to Adopt the CeraMac® System following those in the Netherlands, Singapore, and the U.K.
METAWATER Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President: Yasushi Nakamura; "METAWATER") is pleased to announce that the CeraMac® system, developed by PWNT B.V. (Headquarters: Velserbroek, the Netherlands; CEO: Jonathan Clement; "PWNT"), a strategic partner of METAWATER, will be adopted by the Sonnenberg Water Treatment Plant in Luzern City, Switzerland. METAWATER will supply ceramic membranes for the CeraMac® system based on a strategic alliance with PWNT.
METAWATER conducted demonstration experiments of the ceramic membrane water filtration system at the Eigenthal Water Treatment Plant in Switzerland for about two years starting in 2009. As a result, our ceramic membranes received a high evaluation for robustness and long service life, as well as capability for stable operation even in an environment where water quality changes rapidly which led to the adoption of CeraMac® by the Sonnenberg Water Treatment Plant.
METAWATER formed a strategic alliance with PWNT in June 2013*, and has since been working together with the company with the aim of expanding the market for the CeraMac® system globally. The adoption of the CeraMac® system to the Sonnenberg Water Treatment Plant in Switzerland, that will feature three CeraMac® C-37's, will mark the fourth project in which METAWATER supplies ceramic membranes for the CeraMac® system, following the projects of the Andijk III Water Treatment Plant in the Netherlands, the Choa Chu Kang Water Treatment Plant in Singapore, and the Mayflower Water Treatment Plant in the U.K. METAWATER will continue to accelerate the expansion of sales of ceramic membranes and growth of its overseas business.
