METAWATER to Start Full-Scale Construction of Filtration System for the Canoe Slalom Competition Venue in Tokyo

First Project for METAWATER to Introduce a Siphon-Type Washing Filtration System in Japan

METAWATER Co., Ltd. (President: Yasushi Nakamura; Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo) is pleased to announce that it will start full-scale construction of the filtration system for the canoe slalom competition venue, a project for which it signed a contract with the Tokyo Metropolitan Government in July 2017 and for which it has partially started working on the construction of the underground pipe system. This filtration system is designed to treat standing water in Japan's first canoe slalom competition venue, which will be built in an area owned by Tokyo Metropolitan Government adjacent to the Kasai Rinkai Park (Tokyo Metropolitan Park), using a siphon-type washing filtration system* to improve the water quality. The system will support water sports, including canoeing competitions, held in the venue, as well as water sports experience events and water leisure, such as rafting, for which the utilization of the venue is being considered. This project is the first collaborative system introduction project with NIHON GENRYO Co., Ltd. (President: Yasuhiro Saito; Head Office: Kawasaki-shi, Kanagawa Prefecture), a siphon washing system manufacturer. * A water purification system developed by a filter media manufacturer and filled with high-performance filter media. The filtration system has a built-in rub-washing function to keep the filter media clean. It is a next-generation water purification system that achieves both reduction of maintenance cost by eliminating the need for replacing filter media (filters) and high-speed filtration.
