Japan Sewage Works Agency Issues the first International Technology Certificate to METAWATER for Advanced Energy Saving Wastewater Treatment Process
METAWATER Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Tokyo, Japan; President: Tomoyasu Kida; hereinafter referred as "METAWATER") is pleased to announce that on March 24, 2014 it received the first international Technology Certificate issued by Japan Sewage Works Agency. Mr. Tomoyasu Kida, President of METAWATER, received the certificate from Mr.
Yoshihiko Yato, President of Japan Sewage Works Agency, at the headquarters of Japan Sewage Works Agency. In February 2013, METAWATER applied for technology verification in the technology verification business operated by Japan Sewage Works Agency as part of the government's international water business strategy. The application was made for the "advanced energy saving wastewater treatment process: a water treatment process equipped with Floating Sponge Filtration system, High-rate Trickling Filtration system, and Final Solid-Liquid Separation tank" which has been promoted by METAWATER for developing countries. METAWATER conducted a series of field experiments using demonstration facilities installed at a sewage treatment plant in the city of Da Nang, Vietnam.
Based on nearly one year of technology verification carried out by the Japan Sewage Works Agency, the validity of the technology was confirmed and this led to the granting of the Certificate of Technology Verification. METAWATER, with support from the Japan Sewage Works Agency and the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism, will facilitate the dissemination of the advanced energy saving wastewater treatment process whose technology verification has just been completed to make it a new standard for sewage treatment systems in Asia including Vietnam.
