METAWATER Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Tokyo, Japan; President: Tomoyasu Kida; hereinafter referred as "METAWATER") is pleased to announce that it has entered into a basic sales agreement and will start collaboration with Nagaoka International Corporation (Headquarters: Osaka, Japan; President & CEO: Hitoshi Mimura; hereinafter referred as "Nagaoka"), a water intake/treatment facility manufacturer, in April 2014. Through this collaboration, METAWATER and Nagaoka aim to expand business and sales channels.
1. Purpose and Description of Collaboration
As a water and environment engineering company, METAWATER has developed and supplied to drinking water and wastewater treatment facilities mechanical equipment such as ceramic membrane filtration systems, ozone generation systems, sludge incinerators, and high-speed CSO filtration systems as well as electrical equipment including power receiving and transforming equipment, instrumentation equipment, and monitor and control equipment. METAWATER has expertise in water treatment using a ceramic membrane filtration system.
METAWATER's ceramic membrane filtration system has been introduced, at present, in about 130 water purification plants in Japan including the Yokohama Waterworks Bureau Kawai Purification Plant (Kanagawa, Japan), Japan's largest scale membrane filtration water purification plant, launched in April 2014.
Nagaoka is operating business globally in the area of water, the environment, and energy through its unique and advanced technology products including "NAGAOKA SCREEN" used for petroleum refinery/petrochemical plants, wells, and water intake facilities and "CHEMILES" - an ultra-high-speed chemical-free water treatment system.
Based on the agreement, Nagaoka will provide METAWATER with "NAGAOKA SCREEN" and "CHEMILES" while METAWATER will provide Nagaoka with ceramic membrane filtration systems and ozone generation systems. The collaboration will enable the two companies to supplement their mutual businesses through leveraging their respective strengths. In addition to increasing sales of the applicable products, the collaboration is expected to enable METAWATER to create new business opportunities such as groundwater and riverbed water intake facilities and expand sales channels.
