

Water Next Yokohama Co., Ltd., a special purpose company whose largest shareholder is METAWATER Co., Ltd., has concluded a business contract for "Kawai Water Purification Plant Redevelopment Project" with Yokohama Waterworks Bureau on February 27, 2009, and the project was commenced on April 1 of the same year. The project is the nation's first private finance initiative (PFI) project that the entire water treatment facilities are updated and managed under an infrastructure organization system capitalizing on private fund.
METAWATER takes charge of manufacture, mechanical/electrical work, and maintenance and control of the membrane filtration facility. The Kawai Water Purification Plant will be the largest-scale membrane filtration plant in Japan.
