METAWATER to Supply Ozone Generating Systems for Xicheng Water Treatment Plant in Wuxi City, Jiangsu Province, China
— The 10th Water Treatment Plant in China and 36 Water Treatment Plants in North America (U.S. and Canada) that Have Adopted METAWATER’s Ozone Generating Systems —
In China, water shortages have become a problem and water pollution has worsened due to the effects of industrialization and urbanization in many areas. In Wuxi City, the ordering party of this project, the water quality of Lake Taihu, the main water supply source, deteriorated in 2007 and caused an odor in the tap water. The adoption of sophisticated water treatment technology subsequently progressed, and all five water treatment plants in Wuxi City have decided to adopt sophisticated water treatment using ozone.
METAWATER entered the large-scale ozone water treatment market in China on a full-scale basis in 2008, and we have already delivered ozone generating systems in the Zhongqiao Water Treatment Plant (water treatment capacity: 600,000m3/day; ozone generation capacity: 20kg O3/h x 3 units) and the Xuelang Water Treatment Plant (water treatment capacity: 250,000m3/day; ozone generation capacity: 20kg O3/h x 2 units) in Wuxi City. We were awarded the order for ozone generation systems for Xicheng Water Treatment Plant (10th water treatment plant that adopted our ozone generating systems in China) in recognition of the stable performance and high reliability of our ozone generating systems in the abovementioned two water treatment plants. METAWATER also provides the same type of ozone generating systems in North America*1, and has already received orders for ozone generating systems in 36 water treatment plants, including Wylie Water Treatment Plant (water treatment capacity: approx. 3,000,000m3/day: ozone generating capacity: 72kg O3/h x 13 units), the world’s largest water treatment plant in Texas.
METAWATER will contribute to the improvement of the water environment in the world and accelerate the expansion of its overseas business by utilizing its technologies cultivated in Japan, including ozone generating systems and ceramic membrane filtration systems.
*1 The ozone generator business in North America was transferred to Aqua-Aerobic Systems, Inc. (hereinafter “Aqua”), the Company’s U.S. subsidiary, and has been conducted by Aqua since April 2016.
