Our Support for the Angkor Wat International Half Marathon 2017
METAWATER Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Chiyoda ward, Tokyo, President and Representative Director: Yasushi Nakamura, hereinafter referred to as “METERWATER” or “we”) will cosponsor the “Angkor Wat International Half Marathon 2017,” to be held in the Kingdom of Cambodia on December 3, 2017 (Sunday).
Angkor Wat International Half MarathonThe Angkor Wat International Half Marathon is an international race held at the world heritage-listed “Angkor Wat” temple complex in Cambodia. The first race was held in 1996, and this year will mark the 22th such event.
This charity marathon is held annually to support antipersonnel landmine victims in Cambodia, and promote a “global ban on the use of inhumane antipersonnel landmines”. The race symbolizes courage and hope, and features not only able-bodied participants but also landmine victims themselves. 9150 people from over 80 countries and regions participated in the 2016 race.
METAWATER established a representative office in Cambodia in April 2013, and has been sponsoring this race to support its intent and purpose since 2013.

Participants can shower in our “ceramic-membrane filtration system.”As part of our support, we will install shower facilities near the finish area on race day. Shower water will be supplied via our “ceramic-membrane filtering system”.
We provide a mobile water-purification system by mounting a power generator and water purifier (ceramic-membrane filtering system) on board a truck. Recently, natural disasters such as flooding have proliferated in various parts of the world due to climate change. In response, in-vehicle water purifying systems are being adopted; mainly in developing countries most susceptible to the effects of climate change. We delivered one such “in-vehicle ceramic-membrane filtering system” to Kep, Cambodia in June 2014. (*1)
