METAWATER Wins Global Water Award 2015
METAWATER Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Tokyo, Japan; President: Tomoyasu Kida) is pleased to announce that it was awarded the Gold Prize in the category Water Technology Company of the Year at the Global Water Award's ceremony held during the Global Water Summit* held in Athens, Greece on April 27-28th 2015.
The Global Water Award is given to water industry companies and projects throughout the world by voting of the subscribers to Global Water Intelligence (GWI), a magazine that provides news and analysis for the water industry, and the members of the International Desalination Association (IDA) whose members specialize in desalination and water re use. METAWATER was presented with the award at the Global Water Summit* hosted by the GWI.
METAWATER was selected for the award notably for its ceramic membrane filtration technology. This innovative technology is installed at the PWN water treatment plant Andijk III in the Netherlands, one of the world's largest ceramic membrane filtration plants, completed in 2014, and the Kawai Purification Plant Cerarocca in Yokohama, Japan. In addition the award also recognized achievements such as the introduction of a new business model to the Japanese water industry.
The water treatment plant Andijk III, was constructed by PWN Technologies B.V. (PWNT) of the Netherlands, a business partner with METAWATER. Ceramic membrane system integration and other equipment were delivered by Rood Wit Blauw Holding B.V. (RWB), in which METAWATER has partial ownership. Related to the success of Andijk III, both PWNT and RWB were awarded the Silver Prize in the category Water Project of the Year.
