Listing on the First Section of the Tokyo Stock Exchange

METAWATER Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "METERWATER" or "we") hereby announces that it was listed on the first section of the Tokyo Stock Exchange effective today, December 19, 2014.

1. Key Features of METAWATER

METAWATER was established on April 1, 2008 as a total engineering company in the water environment business through the consolidation of the water and environment business subsidiaries of both NGK Insulators, Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "NGK") and Fuji Electric Co., LTD. (hereinafter referred to as "Fuji Electric").

In keeping with our mission to provide the best solution to create a cycle of water resource recycling, the METAWATER group has conducted business activities in the drinking water, wastewater, and environmental fields in Japan and overseas, as a corporate group combining the mechanical technologies of NGK and electrical technologies of Fuji Electric. Specifically, the group mainly engage in designing mechanical and electrical equipment for water and wastewater facilities; and providing various services such as engineering mainly for construction area, repair works for individual facilities, facility management (maintenance and inspection), and operation control, and total solutions combining the above services.

Amid a growing need to promote public-private collaboration and streamline business operations against a background of a decline in population, we have been accumulating solid track records in the PFI and DBO* businesses by building on our group's comprehensive capabilities. In addition, we have been providing cloud services using advanced ICT technologies to support the continuation of the water and wastewater business.

As part of the efforts to expand business in Europe and the United States, METAWATER established a subsidiary in the United States, followed by capital investment in a Dutch company. METAWATER has been making efforts globally to achieve future growth.

3. Action Plans

The METAWATER group will place the highest priority on "responding to changes in the market environment in Japan" and "expanding business in overseas" with the aim of achieving sustainable growth and maximizing profits.

(1) Responding to changes in the market environment in Japan

Given the heightening of water and sewerage coverage ratio and declining population, the water and wastewater market in Japan is expected to shift the feature from the development of new facilities to the replacement of aging facilities and the business operation requiring privatization and wide-area coverage. In addition to responding to these changes in the market, we aim to develop solutions contributing to the effective and comprehensive replacement of facilities and business operations while enhancing the group's organizational structure. At the same time, we will strive to expand our business areas by actively promoting strategic alliance with companies in a complementary relationship.

(2) Expanding overseas business

One of our goals is to turn overseas business into the second pillar of our strategy, after domestic business. As part of this effort, we are aiming to expand our business in Europe and the United States where stable market growth is expected by strengthening our marketing activities while focusing on delivering unique products and technologies through strategic alliances with companies with whom we are in a complementary relationship. In other regions, particularly in Asia where stable market growth is expected, METAWATER will focus on building business platforms by leveraging our abundant experience, technologies, knowhow, and partnership relationships accumulated in domestic business through public-private collaboration and official development assistance (ODA).
