Acceleration of partnering strategy through expansion of ceramic membrane supply
- METAWATER forms basic transaction agreement with ACE WATER and Kyowakiden Industry regarding OEM supply -
METAWATER Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Tokyo, Japan; President: Tomoyasu Kida; hereinafter referred as "METAWATER") have entered into a basic transaction agreement with ACE WATER Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Fukuoka, Japan; President: Junichiro Kawashima; hereinafter referred as "ACE WATER") and Kyowakiden Industry Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Nagasaki, Japan; President: Hideyuki Sakai; hereinafter referred as "Kyowakiden Industry") regarding the OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) supply of ceramic membranes (hereinafter referred as "the agreement") effective April 1, 2014. Based on the agreement, the three companies held a joint product showcase in Fukuoka, Japan on May 27, 2014.
Through the agreement with ACE WATER and Kyowakiden Industry, both of which have extensive track records in dealing with drinking water and wastewater treatment facilities and equipment, METAWATER aims to facilitate water filtration systems using ceramic membranes while creating new business opportunities through partnering with the two companies.
In addition to the agreement, METAWATER formed a mutual sales agreement with Nagaoka International Corporation (Headquarters: Osaka, Japan; President: Hitoshi Mimura) in April this year regarding ceramic membrane filtration systems. METAWATER is currently supplying ceramic membranes to 11 companies. Furthermore, as part of the efforts to facilitate and expand ceramic membranes, METAWATER has been developing a ceramic membrane filtration system that enables the initial investment costs and maintenance and management fees to be lowered.
Through these initiatives, METAWATER will continue to expand the supply of ceramic membranes while further facilitating its partnering strategy.
Characteristics of ceramic membranes
Key features of METAWATER's ceramic membranes include small pores that remove parasites and bacteria, stable treatment capacity that can respond to rapid changes in turbidity levels, high chemical resistance, and resistance to chemical deterioration and thermal / pressure alteration. In the area of water treatment, METAWATER's ceramic membrane filtration system has been introduced, at present, in about 130 water purification plants in Japan including Kawai Purification Plant (Kanagawa, Japan), Japan's largest-scale membrane filtration water purification plant launched in April this year.
