Order receipt for the Ceramic Membrane Filtration System from Leksvik municipality in Norway

METAWATER Co., Ltd. (President: Tomoyasu Kida, Tokyo) announces;
METAWATER Ceramic Membrane Filtration System was officially selected for the renewal project of drinking water treatment plant in Leksvik, Norway, and METAWATER received an official order in September 2010. The supply will commence in December 2011. This project was realized due to the collaboration among four parties, METAWATER, a European partner company, a local corporate entity, and a local university.
The Ceramic Membrane Filtration System was adopted while renewing the aged facility. With a combination of ceramic membranes and a new coagulation system which is a product of research by the participating university, we will be aiming to realize stable operation management for the difficult lake water treatment (low temperature, high color, and high DOC). The features of a ceramic membrane, such as long life, low operation cost, and easy maintenance etc., were also highly appreciated.
Water supply of this project is 900 m3/ day, which uses two separate systems. The commercial system has a supply of 600 m3/ day and the other experimental system has a supply of 300 m3/ day. The experimental system is used for continued research by the four collaborating parties.
In Norway, there are many water treatment plants which can be renovated in order to treat the same raw water quality as this project. To find the other solution, we are continuing to develop a hybrid system, such as with pre-ozonation, as a continuous research along with the collaborating organizations.
