B-DASH

What is the technology development project "B-DASH Project"?

The B-DASH Project stands for Breakthrough by Dynamic Approach in Sewage High Technology Project, in other words, a demonstration project of innovative technology for wastewater treatment. This project has been pursued by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism (MLIT) since FY2011 for the purpose of accelerating the R&D and commercialization of new technologies, thereby promoting enhancement of efficiency in energy utilization in wastewater business and reduction of life-cycle costs of existing facilities and supporting overseas expansion of water business. Entrusted business operators will install a life-size operational facility in a wastewater treatment plant to verify the effects including cost reductions, and the curtailing of greenhouse gas emissions.
Five demonstration propositions in which METAWATER was involved were adopted between FY2011 and FY2017. Among them, demonstration projects carried out in FY2011 and FY2013 were highly recognized in terms of technological performance, based on which National Institute for Land and Infrastructure Management compiled "Guidelines of Innovative Technology for Wastewater Treatment."

FY2011
Demonstration project for "Energy-independent wastewater treatment plant"

FY2013
